I had an amazing time with the girls today. We are bonding so fast, and using each setback we discover here as motivation to get ahead. The language barriers barely even occur to us anymore. And we had a cheesy moment in the subway when we knew we were best friends.

Today was also the day we found our European Love. Chocolate. En the Corte de Ingles we found chocolate. We ran right outside the store and ate the huge bar right outside of the door. Sugar never tasted so good. Katie and I were so happy at that very moment. In the store they have a HUGE fish and meat market. And the fish are still moving and they are mas LARGO! Giant fish are just lying in the ice in the market and we had to walk next to it to get our chocolate! I also found my dream donut shop that is hostess, with melted chocolate. I was in heaven. I also explored the works of the Montana spray paint company. I met some really nice skateboarders who tried to show me to board! It didn’t really work! But the murals of spray paint were amazing. Before I leave, I am going to buy a Montana hoodie. I also explored the park by the zoo. They had a giant elephant statue!:-) And so did the giant chocolate bar we got from the store. Maria Rosa also has elephants in my room! It’s a great sign!
And my teacher is British. A hot brit.
WE LOVE ACCENTS, that is the motto of 2009!
And exxcuuuuuuuuuuuuse!-erin’s quote of the night.
She thought that was excuse me! What a Canadian! But we love hot Canadians like Devon Sawa!
Thirsty Thursday. The first of many traditions in Barca. I had to wait for Katie at the Metro in my heels, and I got an unnecessary amount of catcalls. Almost to the point I felt like I was a prostitute. We met up in Placa de Saints and juga en la parque! We were in the search of tapas, but we ended up with Coronas y Heinekens. Playing in the park with the girls was so much fun, and I am so happy I met them. They are making this trip 10 times more amazing than it already is. We talk about everything like we have known each other for years and no topic is off limits. And they understand and give their honest opinions. After we parted ways, Katie and I went to a bar in our part of town. We got a large tropical drink with so much tequila and orange juice! It was so much fun though! We sat there for two hours and just talked about our lives. And we realized we had so much in common.
The people are prouder.
The drinks are stronger.
The nights are longer.
Love Barcelona.
Live Barcelona.
Tonight that phrase came true. People here are proud of whom they are and they aren’t afraid to show it. The drinks are 3 parts booze, one part mix, and people don’t go out until two. I love Barcelona. And I am living up to my expectations, taking risks, and loving life. I love what Barcelona is making me.
