Day 3 January 4, 2009 Sunday

Barcelona is gorgeous. It’s hip, cosmopolitan, old and historic all in one! Nothing can compare. I understand why Catalonians have such a strong sense of Nationalism, they should. I wish I would have remembered watching the 1992 Olympics here. The city is gorgeous. Steve and I sat on the roof and just looked at the stars. You could see the sea and the mountains as well as Gaudi’s work in one panoramic view. This was by far the highlight of my day. This feeling will stay with me forever. It was warm and we just sat there looking at the city lights. You could see boats in the harbor, and a mystical glow from Montestat in the Mountains.
I bonded with Katie Anderson, Erin Wise, Laney Smith, Jody Fisher and of course Steve and Max. It’s strange how people you just meet can instantly become your best friends and you can bond with them. The Hotel Havana was gorgeous and we had an amazing Catalan dinner. I actually ate tuna and squid! I am proud! I am taking risks! I am doing everything by myself. And I am completely submerging myself in the culture.
I love it here.
