HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM! I LOVE YOU SO MUCH!
ooxoxxooxoxxooxoxoxoxox AND YOU COME THIS WEEK!
Tu tener=tuviste bbbbbkkkchchh. You suck my battleship! Hell yeah we played battle ship today in Spanish. I sunk Jake’s ships (even though I cheated), but John didn’t even put any boats on so Jody kept getting misses! The whole time we were asking how to say cheater, and slurs to each other. It was great. Spanish is the best class here. My teacher today yelled at me and said John and I are the causes of all his problems, when it was actually Erin today! He even said he was going to hang himself because of me! I speak in English too much, whoops. But I had tactic during battleship!
Today I went on a bomb shelter tour and it was one of the best things I have seen in Barcelona. It got me engaged in Spanish History and made me want to learn more. We went to the shelter and learned about the Spanish Civil war in the 1930’s. There were 2,000 of these shelters, and people only had 1-2 minutes to get to these before they were bombed! They were constructed deep under ground; a few even had running water, infirmaries, and bathrooms. I couldn’t imagine being in such a small space for up to three days! We saw pictures of children of Barcelona being murdered, and it was so sad. But that is war. They even killed all of the animals in the Barcelona zoo, and distributed the meat. Our tour guide said the butcher near Parrell ate elephant trunk for a month. Imagine being so hungry to kill all the animals in the zoo. I didn’t know the Spanish civil war was so bloody. People were toured and killed on the top of Montjuiic. Bombers would come in from the city with motives to kill mass amounts of people, and ruin historical sites to demise the moral of the local citizens. The Santa Maria del Mar was one of the largest targets, and a bomb missed by a few feet and that is wine there is such a large courtyard! And in the gothic quarters wherever there is fountain and a courtyard a bomb destroyed the area. Kids and children built these bomb shelters because the men were on the battlefront. The designs were so complex and well built; London even took some of its ideas from Barcelona for World War 2. It was the coolest museum ever! Ahhh I am obsessed now with Spanish History.
I also attempted to show today! I miss Tuesday night thrift cellars with Natalie! That is where we find the best clothes and the most hideous sweatshirts for OTM/mom at 16 baking nights! It was gorgeous out so I didn’t mind being outside!
Tonight we went to the L’Ovella Negra! It is a giant German beer barn with cheap mugs of beer, and huge sangria pitchers! Erin and I rocked the scene there with Shorty iza killa and a few other guys. We counted down to Lainey’s bday and we clanned together with all of the MN kids for pictures! This is the place where it is easy to get drunk! Everyone is always in a jolly good mood! Tonight we established that I can’t count with a shit (and made a fool of myself), Jody has bad luck with her boots ( and it’s so Jody’s style), Matt can’t understand directions and the location of the bar “was off the bricks” when looking at the map (meaning that it was that far off), the boys can’t keep secrets about makeouts, and Erin wishes she could take a drunk pill. Not drugs…Just a drunk pill. We played a bit of have you ever, and just enjoyed the old fashion drinking style! I love how everyone is so happy there! I laughed the whole night drinking estrella! This may be my favorite bar (and Sutton the Club). It seemed like we were in a MN bar just chilling with the huge tables. And so many people showed up! I HAD A PERFECT NIGHT…nothing is better than Barca Beer Barns!!
